Molendotech’s Bactiquick named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026

We’re delighted to celebrate an exciting achievement for Molendotech, the University of Plymouth spinout company based at the Health & Wellbeing Innovation Centre in Truro.

Molendotech’s Bactiquick has been named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026, joining a list of 300 innovations recognised for their originality, impact and potential to change lives.

Bactiquick’s rapid water testing technology can deliver bacterial water quality results in just 15 minutes, helping make more frequent and accessible water quality testing possible. The technology is already being used by organisations and communities in the UK, US and New Zealand.

As a University of Plymouth spinout, Molendotech’s success is a fantastic example of the innovation emerging from the University and the businesses being supported within the Cornwall Innovation Centres.

We’re proud to have Molendotech based at the Health & Wellbeing Innovation Centre and to see their work receiving recognition on an international stage.
