HWIC Celebrates Opening of Transformational Northern Access Road

On Monday 11th May the Health & Wellbeing Innovation Centre hosted the opening of the much-anticipated Northern Access Road linking Treliske with the A390. Cornwall Council elected Members and senior Council officials together with senior representatives from Cormac attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at HWIC to celebrate completion of the 3.4km stretch of road costing £47.5m and taking over 2 years to complete.

The new road will speed up travel time for both customers and visitors to the Innovation Centre as they will now be able to avoid the busy hospital traffic, particularly during peak travel times. Matt Harrington Head of Cornwall Innovation Centres commented ‘The opening of the Northern Access road will be transformational for our customers based in HWIC – particularly if travelling to or from the new Chiverton Roundabout that links the A390 with the A30.’’
