Innovative hospitality businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are developing virtual assistants to support their businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic, with thanks to the support of Acceleration Through Innovation 2 (ATI2) and technology experts.
Following the closure of hotels, holiday cottages and campsites, businesses are turning to technology to assist with supporting their customers. With many operations staff furloughed, businesses are struggling to manage customer enquiries and operations.
Delivered by ATI2, Greg Welch (Chatter Voice), Wo King (Hi9) and hospitality expert Hazel Parsons, a bespoke workshop for the hospitality sector has been created to encourage businesses to utilise affordable technology during this crucial time.
The technology shown at a recent webinar discussed and worked through Voice User Interfaces (VUI) and Chat Bots specifically for the hospitality sector.
Chris Hassall, ATI2 business innovation advisor, said: “Working with technology experts Hi9 and Chatter Voice to create a workshop detailing how businesses can create a bot on their own website within an hour is something we are really proud to be a part of and is vital for this sector right now.”
Parsons said: “This is an immensely challenging time for businesses and once we emerge from this situation, they are likely to need support more than ever. We believe this technology will really help Cornish businesses.”
