Truro-based creative agency Bigbox is celebrating a new chapter of growth with a move to a larger office at Cornwall Innovation’s Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre, alongside the appointment of a new Junior Content Creator undertaking an apprenticeship with Cornwall College.
After nine years, the agency has expanded its workspace within the centre to support its growing client base and team. The larger office will provide more room for the strategy, creative and production work behind Bigbox’s campaigns for businesses across Cornwall and beyond.
As part of this growth, Bigbox has welcomed Lea Johns to its content team as Junior Content Creator. Lea will support the agency in producing engaging, scroll-stopping content for its growing portfolio of clients, while studying for a content creation apprenticeship at Cornwall College.
Spencer Woods, Director of Bigbox, said: “Moving into a larger office marks an exciting next step for Bigbox. We have continued to grow our client base, our team and the scope of work we deliver, and this new space gives us the room to keep building on that momentum. Welcoming Lea is a key part of that. Investing in new talent and supporting an apprenticeship is incredibly important to us, particularly in an industry that is constantly evolving. Lea is already bringing fresh ideas and energy to the team, and we are delighted to support her as she develops her skills and career.”
The agency’s growth has also been recognised nationally, with Bigbox recently named a finalist in the Best Low Budget Campaign category at the UK Social Media Awards 2026.
The nomination recognises “The Sh!t We Deal With”, Bigbox’s campaign for long-standing client Pellows Waste Disposal Services, Cornwall’s oldest liquid waste disposal contractor. The campaign addressed the region’s sewage and waste-disposal challenges through a combination of social content, video and media relations, generating national and regional coverage and helping to bring the issue to the attention of decision-makers.
Bigbox is shortlisted alongside major national brands and organisations including Currys, Hasbro & Peppa Pig, Transport for London, Channel 4, Leeds Building Society, Weetabix and the Department for Transport. Winners will be announced at the UK Social Media Awards ceremony on 22nd October 2026.
Matt Harrington, Head of Cornwall Innovation Centres, said: “It is fantastic to see Bigbox continuing to grow within the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre. Their move into a larger office reflects the ambition of the agency and the strength of the creative work being delivered for clients across the region.
Supporting emerging talent is also central to a thriving business community, so it is particularly encouraging to see Bigbox investing in Lea’s apprenticeship and creating opportunities for the next generation of Cornwall’s creative professionals. Their national award shortlisting is a further testament to the quality and impact of the work being produced here at the centre.”
