Meet the Team

Lorna Sutton

Administrative Assistant

Lorna joined the team in September 2014 as a Clerical Assistant at the Pool Innovation Centre. She grew up in Cornwall and completed her degree in BSc Geography at the University of Exeter, where she studied at the Cornwall campus and gained a First.

Whilst studying for her A-Levels, Lorna worked as a Student Ambassador at Cornwall College and undertook an internship at South Crofty Mine as a Research and Archive Assistant whilst studying for her degree.
Lorna then worked at Careers South West as a Career and Information Assistant, where she worked across a number of branches throughout Cornwall providing careers help, support and advice. Remaining in this area of work, Lorna was employed as a Student Ambassador Coordinator at Cornwall College, where she managed Higher Education Student Ambassadors across the campuses.

Following this employment, Lorna worked as a Tenant Liaison Officer at Northwood Limited, a Letting Agents in Truro, and was then promoted to Maintenance Manager. Lorna was then later promoted to Office Manager; responsible for managing and resolving all maintenance issues, managing the company accounts, overseeing and improving office processes, before joining the Cornwall Innovation team.

Lorna enjoys keeping herself busy in her spare time, with going to the beach, shopping for a bargain (particularly at the car boot), going to craft fairs, eating Philps pasties, and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Lorna is also a fan of the Carry On Films and enjoys collecting minerals and gemstones, as well as painting and drawing, which she has less time for these days, with spending as much free time as possible with her family, swimming, crafting and having fun.
