Royal Cornwall Hospital – Women and Children’s Hospital Programme Team

New Women and Children’s Hospital Programme Team

A dedicated Women and Children’s Hospital is to be built at the heart of the Royal Cornwall Hospital site in Truro to replace the Princess Alexandra wing. The entire programme, including several “enabling” projects, is underway, with completion due in 2028, and the Trust’s Women and Children’s Hospital programme team has taken up dedicated office space here in the HWIC.

As part of the Government’s New Hospital Programme, this scheme is the biggest investment our hospital has ever had – bringing together all women and children’s services into one building. Services included are Maternity, Neonatal and Paediatric care; Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The new hospital, to be built using modern methods of construction between the Trelawny Wing and Tower Block will also provide the site’s new main entrance, transforming the layout of the current site in Truro.  Digital solutions and sustainable features throughout will support the NHS’s carbon net zero ambitions.
