Dale moved 300 miles from his home in Lincoln to Cornwall in 2014 with his wife and daughter. After spending a number of years visiting Cornwall for family holidays, they decided to make the move, leave their friends and family behind and start a new life in Newquay.
Since 2014 Dale has turned his hand to many things including becoming a surf coach and coasteer guide in 2015, working for The Wave Project for 5 years teaching children and young adults with disabilities to surf. Dale was working in a factory when he realised that he needed to improve his prospects, quit his job and go back to education. He has a Foundation Degree in Surf Science and he went on to complete a full degree in Creative Events Management gaining first class honours. He has experience in a wide range of events from creating a surfing competition to being an Accessibility Manager for four festivals right here in Cornwall and now working here with us, as Events Assistant at the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre in Truro.
When Dale has any free time, you will usually find him in the sea, either surfing or snorkelling, or working on a festival! He hates being bored, so keeps himself busy with events during his down time. Dale also loves climbing and spends his evenings at a local centre with his daughter where he has a membership. Friday night film nights are also a favourite in his family.
